Chih-Pin Hsiao

About

Chih-Pin Hsiao receives the Ph.D. degree in Design Computing and Human Computer Interactions at Georgia Institute of Technology in 2015. His focus is on bringing human’s creativity into the decision making process with appropriate interactions. His research works include Tangible User Interfaces, Sketch and Gesture Interactions, Information Visualization, and Wearable Technology. He has published papers on major conferences/journals, and served as paper reviewers and session chairs. Besides academic activities, he has also worked in software industry for more than 8 years, and contributed software projects in various roles. Among them, he helped Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory to build and manage a large software program, Simergy. He also joined User Experience Lab at GE Global Research where he researches and creates various visualization frameworks and prototypes, and then produced a patent application and a research paper. In 2014, he finished an intern at HP Labs for novel interaction research and prototyping where he filed four patent applications. Recently, he joins the global 3D design software leader, Nemetschek Group, as a R&D software engineer and contribute his expertise on creating cutting edge software programs for creative industry.
